We’re visiting the USA

Anuraag and Priyanka have been selected to participate in the New York/India exchange with The Academy – a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School and the Weill Music Institute.

The 10 day visit will occur from October 13 to October 23, 2012.

During our visit, we – along with 11 other Indian artists, teachers and arts administrators – will spend time with current Academy fellows as well as the alumni of the Academy program with whom we interacted in March 2012 in Mumbai.

In addition to the activities in New York City, we will participate in a residency at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York.

Goals and activities for the program include:

  • Engaging participants in discussions and workshops with Academy musicians
  • Introducing techniques for engaging new audiences and students
  • Exchanging of musical ideas and cultures

The Carnegie Hall/Mumbai Exchange is supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Bureau promotes international mutual understanding through a wide range of academic, cultural, private sector, professional and sports exchange programs.

The Bureau’s exchanges engage youth, students, educators, artists, athletes, and emerging leaders in many fields in the United States and in more than 160 countries. Alumni of these exchanges comprise over one million people around the world, including more than 50 Nobel Laureates and more than 300 current or former heads of state and government.
