We could very well say that without our initiative, The Looking Glass, the world would come to an end (and maybe by the end of this write up, you’d think it actually will)… but right now we’re about to share with you why we actually did start this initiative.

What are we without the involvement of Art? We’d say mere machines that wake-up – eat – work – sleep – repeat. So, what makes us human then? It is our likes & dislikes, our dreams and aspirations, and most importantly, the aesthetic sense we develop over time. This is what defines our individuality; the spark that makes us come alive. Somewhere along the way, we seem to side-line our inner voice. To understand one’s intrinsic potential, and to look at, and experience the world in a holistic manner; The Looking Glass comes to your rescue!

Art, with its own vibrant language goes beyond gender, caste and culture. What music, movement and expression can do to an individual is fascinating. In fact recent studies demonstrate that “The arts enhance the process of learning. The systems they nourish, which include our integrated sensory, attentional, cognitive, emotional, and motor capacities, are, in fact, the driving forces behind all other learning.”

(Jensen, 2001)

Essentially, art works through experiential learning, and we at TLG understand that one’s experience and learning could be poles apart from another’s. Be it children, parents, businessmen, corporates, and/or educators, TLG with its spontaneity and sincerity aims to spread its love for the arts and set the wheels in motion. Through a process-driven approach, we work towards custom-designing modules, workshops and curricula using Music, Movement and Theatre.

So, in a nutshell, we save the world one step at a time, creating opportunities through Art, for each individual to explore different perspectives, maybe step out of their comfort zone, have lots of fun, and re-discover their own awesome selves!
